BOSTON —
Representatives of several labor unions rallied with some Boston city councilors outside of City Hall on Tuesday ahead of a meeting considering an ordinance that would constrain the launch of autonomous car services in the city.
The Labor United Against Waymo coalition draws from the App Drivers Union, Teamsters Local 25, UFCW 1445, IAM District 15, the Greater Boston Labor Council, and SEIU 32BJ. They are urging city officials to support a proposed ordinance that would require a public study of the potential impact of driverless cars before allowing a company like Waymo to begin commercial operations.
